Outdoor recreation or activity refers to recreation that takes place outdoors, most commonly in natural environments. The activities that include outdoor recreation vary depending on the physical environment in which they are carried out.
These activities can include fishing, hunting, hiking and horseback riding and can be completed individually or collectively. Outdoor recreation is a broad concept that encompasses a variety of activities and landscapes. While facilities, site modifications, or infrastructure can be provided to manage access and the impacts of outdoor activities, outdoor activities can be carried out without facilities, site modifications, or infrastructure. Physical activity outdoors or in natural settings, which provides opportunities to connect individually, in small groups, or as a community with the outdoor environment.
The Queensland Government is proud to fund Outdoors Queensland to get more people active outdoors. Rather, it is the collectivist idea that is at the forefront of outdoor recreation, since outdoor recreation does not necessarily encompass the same degree of competitiveness or rivalry that is embodied in sports games or championships.
